Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, The Dream- Digital Girl

Ahhhhhh... Kanye KILLS that Digital Girl song "i take em yellow, brown, puerto rican or persian, that means kimono, dashiki or turban.." Or whatever he says.

I'd forgotten how hard he goes on that until I was in an environment where Kanye was the only artist everyone agreed upon we could play and the track popped up.

Woke up early today, hung over from last night but I knew I had to finish the writeup for the reality show treatment we're finishing, and also I had to revise some decks for All Star. Good to know mind over body still works for me.

Booked an appearance on television for us in March, and they're gonna film a free show at Yucca Tap Room on March 1st which I think will be dope, we did our first show ever there and it was kinda awesome. All our friends came, it was on 420 and William Reed was there, and the kid, and Boots and Dreadlocked Jon and the whole crew, and Juicy Jays gave out like 14000 free blunt wraps and Epidemic put it all on and we got like 100 bucks, it was classic times. The guy Shane doing the tv work has a pretty cool show where they feature local bands and it's sponsored by studios (Highland) and venues (Yucca), and we're all about it, now that we have a music video we qualify.

Spent some time on the phone with Tony from management, talking about Salt Lake City and making a presence there and how his preliminary playing of our songs for radio consultants went. They like Slave, which is cool, that's my favorite and Carnegie's as well (after Camera I believe for him) so we're all about it, I think it has a great chance on rock radio.

Worked on our Easel/Infinite proposal for the Mondrian we're giving them tomorrow, should be cool we're pairing deejays and celebrities for appearances and it could be an interesting few months if it all falls into place

Ate with Jimmie at the original Honey Bears off 52nd and Van Buren and it was appropriately amazing but no fries, (wtf?) and I abstained from the obligatory lunchtime Miller High Life. Trying to make my diet work haha, all chicken and salad and no beer except Guinness or on the weekends... Now that dieting.

Space came by the new crib after that and played me a new beat he wants me to get on. I'ma be down with Space no matter what, he's just a good dude and he has a good voice for the rap game. He been recording at Trife's and people are starting to give him props he wouldn't be getting if he was still just recording with Hayden Lane. The beats pretty hot, could be a strip club banger, I'm seeing if I can work something for it. I'm so far in Fueled By Ramen songwriting land that getting back to hip hop is a task, but we'll see what happens when I sit down with it. We chopped it up a lot about what rappers are doing wrong in AZ. My main view is that these people need to:

1. Record in real studios
2. Sell cd's on the street
3. Form powerful cliques where everyone provides for each other versus holding people back
4. Pay real money to designers/photographers/publicists etc to make things happen
5. Write some hit records

It's that easy (sarcasm). We talked a lot about how if any of these rappers (Willy, Rod, JUICE) got money and decided to come back to the state and make things happen (buy up beats, buy up Trife's time, pay a publicist, staff a photographer/designer) then for literally 25k they could have a team of rappers pumping out product and running the streets while they kept moving nationally. Sadly I don't think any of these dudes are gonna get that much money and if they do we'll see a lot more jewelry then team building. And Silver Medallion? We're getting female latin teen trios to do the Nina Sky thing and investing overseas, real talk. Staying as far away from this rap game as possible.

Worked for a little bit once Space left then Cyrus and AJ from Royal Epic came by we worked out a show schedule for March, I got a bunch of videos from our trips etc to put up on Kyte, and we all chopped it up.

Tonight it's been solid work on the Mondrian proposal, took a long time to finish. I've gotta bang out a dj mix tomorrow, and getting the preliminary mixes from Epidemic back for his sessions, later this week we'll be getting our cds out across the nation to see what we can spark booking-wise come March/April. If Carn, Epidemic and I can each by djing different spots people are about to start seeing serious money off this Silver Medallion thing we've been building.
