New flyers for Lyte done, preview below. I'm happy I have music to hold on to so I don't have to resign myself to a life of making pictures for various graphic applications. As it is tomorrow I post two websites, design two myspaces, design another website layout and get going on two new flyers, and a sponsorship deck. Not the funnest of days, but it'll make my week easier to just get it all done.
And our first band sponsor is almost complete, it'll be nice to start seeing print and cd's paid for, if we get another sponsor our costs will be pretty much taken care of for promotion, a very welcome change from saving change to get flyers. Selling out here we come, and I'm all the more happy for it.
Biking to work is good exercise, but damn near lethal in this heat. We went to a new Carribean place down the street from the office for lunch, ended up they needed a logo and PR and we have a new potential client. As long as oxtail is in the payment plan I'm in...
Got our first contract from a potential manager today, and scrapped that without a second thought. I can't even describe the ludicrous clauses in there. Not only couldn't we fire him, but if we threatened to get another manager the contract extends for another year. These people are out of their minds, we get $5-700 a weekend off shows, if you're taking 15% of that and our growing cd revenues and sponsorship dollars you better be bringing some Diddy type talk to the table. On the other hand our souls are for sale to anyone who will help us finish the album, inquire around Scottsdale for more information.
And that's another day in the life, listening to Mogwai, making websites.
