New Business Cards

The time comes in every mans life, for a business card change. In design, business cards are a recurring client request, but far more cards are produced than are appropriately designed. With so much riding on the judgement of a single slip in terms of the character of ones business and individual potential, I'm surprised more people don't shell out the 100 or 200 dollars for a designer to put something together. If you don't think that the business card is that relevant, that it is simply a display of information, than consider its outside potential. The power of having a card that someone will pick up without meeting you, perhaps left on a table or on another desk and want to follow through on, means the life of the card is more than just one use. If one is already successful and professional and doesn't need new business and that attention, than there should be no reason to explain the necessity of design, it is intrinsic in success to begin to grasp the effectivity of design.

Anyway, for my design, I wanted something, clever, bright, positive, attractive and simple. I put my name onto a sign and used bright Hawaiian imagery. My gpage address, from whence every other web presence I have can by found, is the only necessary addition, besides my phone number on the backside. I set the type in futura, and italicized the back to work with the motion of the waves.
