So, we won the MyStudio battle of the bands and we’re the number three seed for the Project Ethos showcase in LA. That sounds like a lot of jibber jabber, but this is a 2700 person showcase in LA filled with industry, LMFAO was signed there, as was One Republic and more. I’ve listened to the other bands, and we’re head and shoulders above the rest, and I say that comfortably.
Our new set for this showcase is our whole new album (plus Scottsdale) in order. About as pop as you can get, we’re looking forward to it. It’s a huge blessing for a group of our stature to be able to have an opportunity to be showcased to the national industry this way, we’re kinda overwhelmed by the whole thing. We beat out hundreds of bands groups and solo artists in Arizona, and it’s definitely validating. What I’m most excited about is the ability to ignore emails and treat the people we’ve been talking to the way they treat us for a change when it comes to labels.
Our demo merch came today too, Slave shirts are hotttttt, we’re gonna have to do the v-necks despite the price, they look phenomenal. DJ’ed light tonight, Carnegie is obsessed with Nipsse Hustle, whom I think sucks. Apparently he got a Papoose deal (you think they would have learned after Papoose) and gave him a million dollars straight… Rap doesn’t sell anymore yall, check soundscan… Wale has his new single with Lady Gaga, officially a banger (I’d like to see him make a solo hit though, I have no respect for Wale on a major label scale, and getting Lady Gaga is like us coming out with a single with Britney Spears). Black Eyed Peas single is a monster hot.
