The Willowz- Evil Son

The NY weather is nothing less than amazing right now. In a week I'm gonna be huddled up in gloves a scarf the size of a throw rug and two coats (I'm still a Hawaii boy, not gonna try and act tough, the cold is rough), but until then I'm wearing tees at night!

Started using twitter, after reading a Wired article discussing how blogs are no longer useful (not gonna argue, they aren't the beasts they once were). Not about to stop mine anytime soon, I'm at more than 400 posts (whew), and it's a nice habbit, but the twitter is strangely addictive, and my friends who are on there are all tech-savvy and cool and inspire me to be doing cooler things when they update me every 15 minutes about how they're "listening to abstract french techno eating brie and then off to see the wu tang clan!" or whatever it is they're doing.

Went out clubbing with my boy from Philly and his cousin and friends last night. Went to Al Di La to eat first, and while it's supposed to be like the pinnacle of Park Slope cuisine, my hangar steak was exactly decent, although I did taste some pretty godly ravioli.

We went to Botanica first, my 3rd time there, this time was much like my first, pretty cool djs, not in that they mix (they just kinda play songs) but its like hip college girls djing and they played all sorts of bangers (I walked in to Fu Gee La...). Its a pretty eh bar, great place to start, wouldn't ever make a night of it, bartenders are nice though and drinks are stiff and cheap.

After that we went to Love, which I was thoroughly unimpressed with. I've been to so many NY clubs that the whole "secret location, looks like a barber shop on an obscure corner" doesn't cut it for me, and honestly I haven't been to a place worth mentioning and paid cover either, but i was with people and went along with it all.

We went inside and its underground and like a dinosaur cave with pitch black alleyways and I kinda left my "lets go to a club that looks like a Teradactyl (sp?) might attack us in and listen to loud techno" phase after we stopped going to raves in the Maze in the pineapple fields back in Hawaii when i was in high school...

Anyway left their pretty quick, reminisced over Happy Ending (but didn't go in) briefly and then it was barhopping in Brooklyn and I was just happy to be a place where I could hear Santogold/Radioclit/ODB in a row somewhere that wasn't all hipster.

New design for our new single, which I'll blog about tomorrow.
