Back Like I Left Somethin

Dropped a 35 minute segment to complement my existing mix cd today. The first section of my dj cd, showcasing electro tracks and remixed hip hop mashed together, my current style, was pretty pop based, I had remixes of T-Pain, Will.I.Am. Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake etc. and while it hits the dancefloor right and helped me establish myself for some of the corporate work I’m doing, it doesn’t reflect my style exceptionally well. Right now I’m leaning towards a combination of straight booty bass, said hip hop remixes, and indie rock DFA style remixes, with the occasional French vocal electro cut. I’m also not opposed to dropping old school hip hop 80’s and the occasional straight mainstream hip hop cut in every eight or ten songs to mix it up. I’m getting extremely tired of house music, what’s coming out now is just more retreads of the same beat and cheesy vocals, so I’ve steered away from house altogether unless its got extremely electro roots.

I’m planning on printing up a 100 of my dj cd, tossing the first two Silver Medallion singles on the front end and using it as a demo during Phoenix Fashion week. Just confirmed my ability to get free passes, so I’ma get fitted and go down there to promote. The remainder I’ll just put into my dj press kits when I go hard in Phoenix in two weeks.
