Animation Station

Last chapter in the Afterhours identity, for now at least. Animated gif, functioning as a short animated preview for the night. Doing this got me excited about the potential of a series animated segment promoting a club night or even a band, just using still photos and various photoshop abilities... I'm imagining even a two character scene in a section of stills animated with type into some sort of storyline, ending in a club or brand promo.

All that will come out of this idea is probably another strange Silver Medallion promotional tool (animated blaxploitation kung fu segment?!?), but it's an interesting idea.

Late night television has been breaking me up recently, I like having it on while I work, but it has to be the right mix of interesting visuals lack of needing to pay attention that will allow me to be entertained but not concentrate. Martial arts action films have fit the bill the last two days. Quentin Tarantino apparently directed a Thai kick-boxing film about elephant protectors fighting animal smugglers in Australia that was suitably impressive. It wasn't Deathproof, but it beats crime dramas. I felt myself falling into a rut today when I saw a film thats title ended in the number 3 and involved a Chinese fighter in a torn v-neck and tight jeans combating an armed faction of the Aryan nation in a small southern town (???). The knife and machine gun armed white power fanatics are systematically defeated through the exclusive use of non-lethal force by the hero Lee. At some point in time I wonder how these movies get created, and have the budget for explosions etc. The tv shall be off for the rest of the week...
