I was going to entitle this post "tomorrow", but then I realized it was already today.
Just spent a few hours labeling my music for djing for easy reference, I had been going on intimate knowledge of cd's and white label vinyl, and it was time I just made it easy on myself. I'm planning to record tomorrow night, possibly post an hour of it on here, for those who really want to bring the club experience to their home.
I'm working on development of a curriculum for a class based around composing basic music on the apple without any prior music theory or creation experience, it's a real interesting process for me, I've been setting up lists of everything I feel should be covered, and I've been working for a week for a main concept to structure it around to make it easy to grasp. I heard one man who does seminars structures it around the idea of a wave, but thats a little too abstract for how I feel I want the concept to be applied in the class. Right now I'm working with the idea of having the student learn musical composition by analyzing music they already listen to, and breaking down structure, instruments, effectivity commercially, target audience etc. using something they know and can think about without it being too much a burden on their myspace filled lives.
Defending my thesis tuesday, until then I will be a little fazed and confused, but around and updating the blog with new pics etc.
