Fisheye Lens, hating on Dreamweaver etc.
Sooooooo... I have new toys. Lights, lenses, the whole kit and caboodle. A new Opteka .22 fisheye lens is my favorite of the toys, but probably the least useful. As my business partner Jamie says "Every photographer wants a fisheye, but no one actually uses them for anything." Agreed. The distortion is just too heavy for high quality pics, but then I can shoot cool shots like the one above, of a VW out at Yokahama Bay way out on the West side. Can't wait to use the lens for breakdance shots, that will go down on the 31st when the magazine I work for hosts the second to last Kings of AZ battle. I get to use my new light kits (more toys!) to take portraits of all the competing crews at this battle for the magazine, should be cool, they get pretty dressed up for these comps, especially if they know that pictures will be taken.
I've been designing for the magazine website, getting eternally frustrated at Dreamweaver, Flash etc. its just not intuitive, but I'll figure something out. I've been using Freeway for websites but for some reason it compresses image files and they show up low quality so I'm trying something new.
Above is a graphic for the website intro. Old photo with new fonts and a Photoshop brush of text and flame I took from a brush website to give it a cooler feel. Work continues en masse out here, I'm back to the blog now to keep ya'll posted.
I leave you with Mike Jones new music video, for no real reason.
