No photos today, I shot plenty yesterday but I thought I'd just go over what I feel are some good resources for design related materials for anybody interested.
turntablelab.com It's hard to get books on design, especially artists books and some fo the harder to get resource manuals that only see the light of day in Japan or Germany. Turntablelab has a monopoly on all things that are dorkily hip and the design books section is fairly ridiculous, with old titles by Tsichhold and Muller Brockman sharing the space with new school kingpins like Shephard Fairey and Graphic Havok. I used to be a fan of just finding the books at teh lab and then going to Amazon for cheaper prices, but I find again and again they are stocking titles that no one else has, for better prices.
The Facebook Started off as a college tool for networking etc. but seriously, its the best image hosting i can findon the web. You can upload unlimited pictures up to 5mb in size PER picture, and it sizes them for the internet so you can post them in a decent size and no one jacks your hi res photos. The upload mechanism on a solid browser like Firefox is very quick, every photo in the folder yous elect appears with a check box, and you can just select and sit back. After all this, go to your gallery, view your photo in a window by itself, and you have a hosted photo. Plus facebook will import your blog directly to its note feature, not to mention its satisfying to watch the gradual deterioration of people you knew as a youth. No more resizing photos for the web to fit flickr account limits or myspace's ridiculous 600k picture size limit. We use SLR's for god sakes, 600k?
Just a short rant for now, back tomorrow with more photos.
